Error Codes V3 Guide

Connect API returns conventional HTTP status codes. For a more detailed explanation of the error, Connect API provides its own error codes. Sometimes, when Precise ID is involved, PID error codes are also provided. Below is the list of the error and status codes

Status Codes

Condition HTTP Status
Request was successfully processed 200 OK
Errors at client input that they can correct and resubmit (Example: Invalid Surname, Social not present, etc) 400 Bad Request
Authentication errors (Example: Incorrect Answers, Viewer not Authenticated, etc)  401 Unauthorized
‘File Condition’ errors  which cannot be processed further (Example: Frozen profiles, Hit on Alert list, etc) 422 Unprocessable Entity
Exceptions at Experian end for which the client has to contact us (Example: User not found in Oracle, No questions returned by PID, etc) 500 Internal Server Error
Any application (PID, Credit Reporting, etc) temporarily unavailable 503 Service Unavailable
Timeouts (Session expired or Timeouts at any of the layers) 504 Gateway Timeout
